This blog was started to help the average person deal with and use products like car and homeowners insurance that is often mandated by government and lenders.  It is also intended to educate people about Life, Personal Umbrella, Renters, Cancer, Disability and many more types of  insurance.

With fifteen years of insurance industry experience, Martin is committed to helping people make wise decisions regarding the use and benefits of all types of personal insurance.  He has worked as an independent broker and as a captive agent for one of the largest insurance companies in America.  He holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of The Pacific and an MBA from California State University, East Bay.  He is certified in Long-Term Care Insurance and is currently active in property & casualty and life insurance.

Martin’s clients have asked him thousands of questions over the years and he has the answers.  He’s seen plenty of heart ache as a result of people making poor insurance decisions and wants to stop it from happening whenever he can.  Martin believes that insurance is a financial tool that most people do not really understand.  This lack of understanding can cause people to lose financially and take on more risk than necessary.  What he finds most disturbing is many people neglect reviewing their insurance needs on a regular basis.  This leads to gaps in coverage or the wrong coverage.

Martin personally owns the following types of insruance: auto, home, umbrella, life, disability, accident, long-term care, cancer, health (including vision and dental), commercial general liability, workers compensation and E & O.  He also has life insurance for his wife and two kids.  As you can see, he practices what he preaches.  Managing risk is what it is all about.  He pays a little over $19,200 per year but has all the bases covered.
